Christian Dexter Benefit HIke

by Troy Behrends
(Castle Rock, CO)

Hi,

A 3-year old relative of mine was diagnosed with ALL (Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia) on July 14th, 2009. Christian is currently receiving out patient chemotherapy treatments at Children's Hospital in Omaha, Nebraska. His total treatment will be approximately 3.5 years.

I am in Colorado and thought there must be more I can do than give just a little money so I organized a hike of Mt. Bierstadt. Mt. Bierstadt is one of 54 14ers (mountains with peaks of 14,000' or higher in Colorado). All proceeds go directly to the family through Paypal. During the hike, we will take many pictures and video then make a summary of the day which will be played to music and put on DVD for Christian to enjoy. We will also all have a card we sign once we're at the top of the mountain.

Anyway, we've advertised this event through Facebook pages and 14ers.com. We'd certainly appreciate any additional help/support anyone can provide. Here are a few webpages with additional information.
